REACA, the journal of everyone

REACA, la revista de todos

Rev Esp Artrosc Cir Articul En. 2022;29(3):161

The Spanish Journal of Arthroscopy and Joint Surgery (Revista Española de Artroscopia y Cirugía Articular [REACA], previously known as "Cuadernos de Artroscopia", is the official scientific publication of the Spanish Association of Arthroscopy (Asociación Española de Artroscopia [AEA]). The current editorial board, led by Dr. Ruiz-Ibán, whose work capacity is surely known to many of you, has been making great efforts in the last few years with the challenging objective of indexing the journal. It is clear that manuscripts published in non-indexed journals have less of an impact than papers published in indexed journals. The indexing of REACA is therefore no mere whim. We consider that indexing is important for the reputation and the reach of the journal and of the articles published in it. Our aim is to respond to the scientific divulgation needs of the almost 1500 members of the AEA and of all those who regard us as their objective or potential "reference" journal.

In order to reach this goal, which would highlight the quality reached by the REACA, it is essential for us to be able to keep on counting on your manuscript submissions. The REACA publishes original papers, review articles, clinical cases and those articles which are requested by the editorial group. In addition, we would like to remind you of the "school for authors" concept, commented upon some months ago, and in which we committed ourselves to help researchers with less experience to draft their articles through rigorous and methodical, yet didactic, reviews made by those who are well aware of the effort it takes to achieve one's first publications. I hope these lines will help our members to appreciate REACA for what it is: something that belongs to them, and which both novel and more experienced researchers can support with their coming works with the aim of indexing the journal. If we can achieve this, it will be a success you can all feel proud of.
